Built for the body, not a face cream stretched
Body skin is thicker, drier and covers a far larger area, so it needs a texture that spreads without dragging and absorbs before you dress. That is a different formulation problem from a face cream, and it is why this is not one poured into a bigger bottle.
Bifida Ferment Lysate is a postbiotic, not a live culture. Bifidobacterium is fermented without oxygen, then broken down, inactivated and separated out. Four process steps that a commodity humectant like glycerin does not need, and fermentation costs time and tank space before anything has been made at all.
The Ceramide NP is the same barrier ingredient we use on the face. Most of what is sold for the body is priced as though the skin below the neck matters less. It does not, it is simply larger, which makes doing it properly more expensive rather than less important.

Water on the skin is what the humectants in the formula — glycerin, sodium hyaluronate and panthenol — have to hold on to. Applying within a minute or two of towelling off gives them something to work with, and the shea butter and Ceramide NP then slow how quickly that water leaves.
Can I use the body lotion on my face?
It is formulated for body skin, which is thicker and less reactive than facial skin, and it is richer than a facial moisturiser needs to be. Use the Brightening Face Cream on the face and keep this one for the neck down.
